ELECTED PROTHONOTARY (COUNTY CLERK) OF LYCOMING COUNTY 1886-1892
The late John L. Guinter, served two elected terms as Prothonotary for Lycoming County, PA and was given the largest vote ever given a candidate for any Pennsylvania county office in the 19th century. His penmanship on the county records is like unto engraving. His life is portrayed in the “History of Lycoming County.” He was one of the three sons of this pioneer Pennsylvania family.
