These Mint Error Coins have had a variety of errors happen to them during their minting process, and some are major errors and as such quite valuable.
A die cud is extra metal that has accidentally attached to any part of the coin, (sometimes present on the date, other times on Liberty, and other times on the reverse sides Wheat Stalks) during its minting process.
A Lamination Error is when the metal from a coins planchet has accidentally broken or laminated during the coins minting process.
A Grease Error is when grease has accidentally touched a coins planchet before being struck by the die, the result is a weak or missing die.
A Struck Through Object Mint Error is when a piece of debris accidentally is on the blank planchet while being struck by the die.
