An untreated top quality Ancient Ammolite fossil from Alberta, Canada.
Like all Ammolite fossils the chitin on the surface of the shell has been replaced by beautiful colorful Opal. This process took place over 71 million years ago (Mesozoic). When these cephalopods died they sunk into layers bentonitic mud. That mud later became shale and fossilized. Tectonic pressure, heat and mineralization created the opalized surface.
Metaphysically speaking Ammolite is a powerful talisman. Feng Shui masters say Ammolite absorbs the knowledge of the universe. It is in alignment with the patterns of the cosmos in its fibonacci spiral growth pattern.
