Exported from Japan during the Meiji and Taisho periods to acquire foreign currency.

One crack along the back, but too beautiful to discard.

The gold painted sections are raised and can be felt easily. There is some areas where the paint has worn off as I imagine this had sat in another vessel to be held versus being hung by the back.
