Antique History book set, French Revolution books by Thomas Carlyle
--
19th century books 1875, Historical essays in a two volume set bound in brown cloth, gilt gold lettering on spine with pictorial floral endpapers in VERY GOOD condition considering its age! Undeniably great 19th century writing by eminent English essayist / historian, Thomas Carlyle. He invents for himself a style combining epic poetry with philosophical treatise, exuberant story telling with scrupulous attention to historical fact. A unique work of history still in print over 150 years today.
