Antique Lead Santa & Child Door Stop Stocking Holder 1925 Attributed to Hubley. Condition is Used.
Beautiful antique cast iron lead Christmas Santa with doll and a brown Sack of toys Dated 1925 with original paint and extremely heavy. This example is exceptionally well crafted with tight seems. The Santa has a very early 1900s Santa Thomas Nast like image. The santa also has a child and sack of Christmas presents.The Santa measures approximately 4 1/2" in height and weighs a good 37 ounces or so .I did some research on this piece and from my understanding this piece is attributed to Hubley but I did not find any markings to confirm that .The piece is dated 1925 but it could be made at a later date. Overall condition is very nice and with beautiful whimsical antique Victorian look.
