This antique Nordic "Torc" (Bangle) is an impressive piece of wearable art. Hand-crafted of silver and features a rope design filled in with yellow resin. This torc is in superb condition for its age (c. 1700s) and originally comes from the Nordic region of Northern Europe & the North Atlantic; including Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands.

The Norse people were artisan jewelry-makers, creating simple pieces of metal jewelry, as well as decorative objects of fantastic design & craftsmanship. The most popular jewelry among Norsemen were armbands, also known as arm rings, or torcs. Torcs were worn by both men & women and used mainly for self-adornment.
