You are looking at a beautiful antique 925 sterling silver Azabache or jet or black amber figa hand pendant / charm necklace. Azabache is a gemstone of black fossil material. Once polished, the black stone glistens and sparkles, like a gem. The rough material is found in fossil beds throughout the world with the most prized lapidary jet coming from Whitby, England and Asturias, Spain. The figa symbol dates back to ancient times and in modern day is seen as a sign of female strength and empowerment.
The lobster clasp and bale are in excellent working condition. The necklace is stamped 925 NH and tested over 95% silver. The silver accents of the hand including cap, bail and bracelet are tested over 96% silver. In excellent condition.
