This colossal piece features an unusual style of closure-rear is fitted with an extra long and flexible "pin", which is a length of wire that fits snugly into small holes on either side. It stays firmly in place and can be pulled out from one side much easier than the other. This piece would have been worn during times of mourning and was probably intended to be worn vertically near the neck but can be attached anywhere. It is in excellent shape for its age and appears to have had one corner embellishment replaced with a triangular piece that is not an exact match but still blends nicely.
