This is a gorgeous handmade tapestry, made in Tripoli, Libya, Africa, in 1960. It has been in storage for 60 years and has no loss of color and no signs of wear. The scene is that of deer. There are Barbary Stag deer in Africa, but the antlers on the deer in this tapestry suggest they are not Barbary Stags. At the time, there was an American Air Force Base in Tripoli, and many of the market places would custom-make "americanized" products. This appears to have been made for my American father, who was stationed at that Air Force Base. The size of this tapestry, perfect for wall-hanging, is 20" by 38".
