Bruce Odell Studio Art Raku Pottery Medium Vase Metallic Iridescent

This is a stunning hand thrown studio art Raku piece of pottery created by world renowned master potter Bruce Odell. The design features an amazing Raku technique with iridescent colors of copper, green, purple, orange, and red. The top of the vase has a softer appearance with gray crazing in the glaze among it appear very old, while the bottom has raised textured organic shapes and imprints. Almost as if the earth made this piece itself. The inside is glazed as well as shown in the photo above. The textured areas are extra thick and stick off the pottery piece. The artist imprinted designs as well as drew designs into the clay in an organic manner.
The shape is similar to an inverted bottle with a narrow base leading up to a wide and heavy bulbous top. It stands on its own, but due to the size difference would be a piece that made need museum putty just to be safe due too its unusual shape.
It is signed on the bottom “Odell 2003.”
