1971 black and white 6.5 x 5 inch personal Photo of count Basie & and u.s.i.s. or United states information service Ambassador Harold McConeghey, third individual in the photo from the Burmese government is unidentified and the woman in the photo is Harold McConegheys wife. Photo taken as a private photo for Harold McConeghey, in Burma also known as Myanmar in south East Asia When Mr. McConeghey commissioned Count Basie to play a concert there for the locals and for a small Buddhist temple and the surrounding village in 1971. This was part of the United States federal music project or wpa music program of which MR. McConeghey Worked for many years after working for the FBI. this is a rare photo because only 3 exhist and i have all 3 currently. they were family photos not media photos so they were never circulated. This is in very clean and well kept lightly used condition, no major damage or stains that we saw at all. defiantly an intriguing piece of history both of the united states,
