Sparkly and beautiful. Rather low key with clear crystals as usually brooches from Bauer are 'out there' and colourful. Bauer is a sought after artist from the 80s and 90s. Under the 'chair' it is signed 'BAUER' and has a beautifully working roll over C Clasp. This gorgeous piece of jewellery looks new and unused.
Weight 11grams. It is 3.3cm high, deep 1.5cm and 1.4cm wide- is in exquisite vintage condition from the 1980s.
Dorothy Bauer and her husband Robert started their jewelry business in 1982 in Berkeley, California. The original name was “A Piece of the Rainbow." The name of the company changed to “Dorothy Bauer Designs" in 1999. Before moving into jewellery design, Dorothy Bauer obtained a degree in art and worked as a sculptor. Her former website noted that she saw her jewellery designs celebrating everyday objects as mini sculptures.
At their peak of production, the Bauers employed about 50 workers in their factory who handcrafted each piece with Swarovski stones. This was
