This hand carved Wood Duck is a rattler...it has at least 2 balls inside its hallow body.
The eyes are glass

4 3/4" from tip of bill to back of head feathers
The cheeks are 1 3/4" wide
This old carving has some history. It was traded from a trader many years ago in New Hampshire, who himself traded with the Hopi American Indian tribe at their reservation in Arizona.
I like the story but cannot confirm who carved it, when it was carved or where...but I still enjoy visiting the NH trader to see what's new.
