Moldavite is the result of a meteorite collision that occurred 14.5 million years ago in the Czech Republic. It’s found in a 40-square-mile radius around the Moldau River. Real Moldavites originate from South Bohemia, Bohemia & Moravia ONLY! AUTHENTIC Moldavites are a darker shade of green in the center & get lighter toward the edges. The last photo is this authentic piece next to a fake. Notice the differences? I see A LOT of those fakes sold on this site! BE CAREFUL!!

☆Things to look for in REAL moldavite: Internal bubbles (from the rapid cooling process) irregularities in shape, rough pitted texture, wire-like lechatelierite inclusions, olive green color.
AVOID: Bright, glossy/wet, dark green, zero inclusion, unnatural shape, (Like the smooth, oblong pieces of straight-up GLASS!) China is getting GOOD at faking these & is now adding bubbles to make them look genuine. If you're looking for a piece of Moldavite, KNOW YOUR STUFF!
