This painting by English artist Harold Copping (1963-1932) was commissioned by the London Missionary Society in 1915 and is the most widely reprinted portrayal of Jesus in 20th Century Britain. Copping is best known for his paintings of Bible scenes on behalf of Protestant missionary organizations. The LMS sent him to Palestine to get a better feel for the local people and landscape, and commissioned him to produce Bible Scenes for missionary books, Bibles, Sunday School curriculum, and magic lantern slides. The Hope of the World, released in the early stages of World War I, portrays children from many mission fields served by the LMS, coming to the Prince of Peace, suggesting that missions are the hope for World peace. In this Lithograph the title has been changed to "Jesus Loves All Children." This is a vintage WW I era print in very good condition, professionally matted and framed and ready to hang on your wall! Smoke free home.
