First printing of this mass market paperback edition of I Am Joaquín / Yo Soy Joaquín by Rodolfo Gonzales (Bantam Pathfinder, 1972). Contains the complete epic poem in both English and Spanish, as well as a chronology of people and events in Mexican and Mexican American History. Richly illustrated and with photographs. A very rare vintage book, among the first in the Chicano literary movement.

Moderate wear to covers, especially around the edges which have some creasing, chipping and small tears. Corners bumped. Some staining to covers, mostly around spine and to fore corners. A few instances of mildly split binding near beginning and end of book though spine is fairly straight and binding remains strong on the whole.
