We refuse to sell dirty optics so have learned the rare skill of cleaning and lubing these old ones that we also collect! Have just over five dozen in the house collection with another 100 or so stored for sale at flea markets and on sites like this one.
Picture of tree tops are 200+ yds. across the lake from our back deck. Stars through this 1960's era Bino were pinpoint and our half moon was spectacular! They don't make them like this anymore! Will easily last so your grandkids can enjoy them. Just need a cleaning every decade or so and the handsome one piece frame makes it a snap. Internal prisms cleaned of film and focusing controls lubed. Screw off those deep plastic eye cups for day time use. Allows a fuller Field of View (FoV).
COMPASS was the brand name and JB-191 was the manufacturing code of one of 300+ firms in Japan who made binos for worldwide export. We added strong nylon web carry straps to the case and optic. Old leather ones dry rotted.
