Japanese Studio Pottery Raku-Fired Vase Etched 幸 “Happiness” Symbol Signed Wabi-Sabi

This stunning studio pottery vase showcases a hand-built slab form and smoky, organic surface created through raku firing, a traditional Japanese ceramic technique. The natural hues of charcoal, warm sienna, and ash gray evoke a moody landscape. Etched into the surface of the vase is the kanji 幸, meaning “happiness” or “good fortune,” making this not only a beautiful piece but one infused with symbolic meaning.

The base is signed 佳旧, a Japanese studio pottery mark that translates to Beautiful Antiquity or Classic Grace. This signature appears on other high-quality studio ceramics and suggests a thoughtful, contemporary ceramic artist with Japanese influence.
•Dimensions: Approx. 12” H x 6”W x 4”D
•Excellent condition; surface variation is part of the raku process
