Large Vintage Navajo DAVEY MORGAN Sterling Silver & Royston Turquoise Pendant

A fabulous pendant from Navajo artist Davey Morgan. Not only has he worked with traditional design, but contemporary, as well. In the contemporary pieces of his that I've seen, the turquoise is the star with freeform undulating stones brought to a high polish. This pendant is no exception, with a BIG piece of Royston turquoise that has highs and lows like rolling hills. The stone is set in a plain bezel that hugs every curve of the outline. The pendant measures 2 3/4" long from the top of the bale x 1 1/4" at the widest x 3/8" deep. The bale is also large, with a 12mm x 15mm opening that will accommodate any number of necklaces...liquid silver, Navajo pearls, a single large or a smaller multi-strand heishi. Any one of them would make for a show-stopper. Marked on the reverse "D Sterling" and weighs 26.8 grams. In beautiful vintage condition, displaying age appropriate wear.
