You could call this a fancy metal detector. Surveyors and city workers use these to find iron in the ground. Surveyers use them to locate iron property line pins. City workers to find iron pipes . Its a older model but it works. I used it to find my survey pins. The signal strength meter does not work, but it works off of sound. The closer you get to iron the louder it gets. It takes some practice to use. I think its good up 6 feet deep. Thanks for looking.
