Story of John G. Paton by Rev. James Paton.

This is a book titled Story of John G. Paton by Rev. James Paton.

The book is an autobiography of John G. Paton, a Scottish Protestant missionary who worked in the New Hebrides Islands (now Vanuatu) in the South Pacific during the 19th century.
The autobiography was compiled and edited by his brother, Reverend James Paton.
John G. Paton's mission work was often dangerous, as he worked with indigenous tribes, some of whom were cannibals.
The book details his life, including the loss of his first wife and child shortly after arriving on the island of Tanna, and his efforts to introduce education and Christianity to the natives.
Paton also campaigned against "Blackbirding," a form of slavery that involved kidnapping natives to work in other countries.
