Russel Wright Steubenville American Modern Casserole w Lid Chutney Brown

Introducing a classic example of Mid Century Modern design, a vintage casserole style serving bowl with lid from the mid-20th century Russel Wright American Modern Collection in Black Chutney - a luscious mahogany brown with lots of depth to the glaze.

This large size server features a round shape and a glossy finish. An original from the Russel Wright collection, produced in the United States between 1939 and 1959.

Russel Wright is an icon in the Mid Century Modern style and this original vintage design is the epitome of his talent and style - note the "lug" or "tab" handles.

There are a few chips on the bowl, you will see small scratches to the glaze, flea bites and glaze skips which are typical of vintage Russel Wright ceramics, please see photos.

Despite the chips, it makes for a stunning display piece or place holder until you find one in better condition - perhaps missing a lid. What a wonderful reunion that would be!
