An attractive Native American inspired necklace from Shube's/Dakota West. The fifteen strands are strung with super fine 1mm silver beads. One of the strands features graduated sterling ball beads that range from 3mm to 10mm in diameter. The necklace is finished off with sterling cone ends and a lobster claw clasp. It measures 23 1/4" long. Marked on one cone with Shube's trademark of an S superimposed over a B, which ends up looking similar to a $ sign. Also marked 925 and weighs in at 23.8 grams. In very nice vintage condition.
Shube's Manufacturing, Inc. was established in 1972, in Albuquerque, N.M. and worked primarily in sterling silver, until, in late 2008, they merged with South Dakota Gold Co., becoming Dakota West Design. I believe that this necklace pre-dates the merger, since the mark "SB" isn't within a circle.
