Handmade by one of the older generation of this relatively new, but wildly popular style. José (Pepe) Santiago Ibañez is from San Antonio Arrazola, in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. He and his family have made a tradition of these beautiful copal wood carvings with amazingly detailed, hand painted designs. Please look at the photos carefully to view the damage from age of chips and cracks. These creations are known as folk art, but each one is unique. It is about 3 and 1/2" tall and long and 1" wide. There's a larger one available that I had previously offered with this one as a set.
