This is a real natural carved shell cameo! It is a brooch pin or necklace pendant! It's marked 925 and is sterling silver, estate I found was made in italy.
SOMEONE took upon themselves to paint this beauty, you can see the peachy natural color on back, however this hot pink doesn't look ugly it looks nice with the silver bow above it but I wouldn't paint over such an old treasure! I do like it this way but you get what I'm saying I'm sure.
The chain is not sterling I do not think. it's not marked and doesn't look sterling. I'm sure you can easily restore this beautiful piece, I just have no idea how to do it. I will leave that up to a buyer.
Cameo measures a tiny bit over 1".
necklace measures- 16.5" long total. I'd take it off and wear as a brooch.
I'm sending it to the buyer as is.
