Steven Kolodny Banded Malachite sterling silver vintage 1980's retro necklace. Good used condition with little to no signs of normal wear. Great vintage patina. Stamped Kolodny on the back of the necklace. Stamped 925 on the spring ring clasp.
Acid tests positive for sterling silver.
Necklace measures 16 inches long.

In 1973, Steven Kolodny earned a BFA (with concentrations in Sculpture and in Jewelry Making) from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Plattsburgh. In 1975, he founded Kolodny Designs, in the state of New York. He creates jewelry that is entirely made by hand and works as a designer, a goldsmith, and a stone cutter (who frequently cuts his own stones). His jewelry is primarily made out of 14k and 18k gold, but is occasionally made of sterling silver. Kolodny’s creations utilize several unusual combinations of gemstones, pearls, or fossils. Whenever possible, he visits fossil quarries, mineral deposits, and mining operati
