This acrylic painting was based on a photo I took back in Ohio. The little Miami river mirrors the sky color at the sunset. It's my favorite time of the day, watching the sunset and the colors of the sky that change every day. It is so relaxing and beautiful, which often provides me with boundless inspirations for creation. The silhouette was a couple pedaling a boat on the river. They look happy and so did me and my boyfriend (now my husband).

About the Artist: J. Zhao
Art has always been my passion since I can remember, though it took a long time and courage for me to call it a profession. I spent quite some time in school: earned my Ph.D. in education and worked briefly in academia, teaching and doing research.
My new job titles both as an artist and art teacher, however, began when I started homeschooling my kids during pandemic.
