Both pieces were recently purchased in New London, Connecticut from the estate of 2-star Rear Admiral Groebel who was the manager of the Navy football team. He went on to finish #26 in his class upon graduation.
His career took him around the world highlighted by commanding Group #2 Submarine Fleet of the Atlantic Fleet. You'll receive: a hand-written double sided letter from Midshipman Groebel to his mother writing about the Navy vs Miami football game. It is dated Oct 7, 1961 and was sent from Miami Springs, Florida; a hand-painted coconut dated Oct 6, 1961 detailing a 17-6 Navy win team manager varsity players name card hand-written note with what appears to be a scoring system for class requirements.
