Hand-wrought maple leaf form bowl by Alfredo Sciarrotta (b. 1907 d. 1985)
Stamped: Sciarrotta hand made, Newport RI 1
Some wear to surface. I believe this is brass.
Sciarrotta worked leaf form dishes and bowls in brass, copper and silver in the 1940s-1960s. They have always been highly sought after and highly collectible. As we move further from the Mid-century modern period, their values have only increased.
There is some age patina on this piece, and I normally do not polish unless a buyer asks me to do so. Many collectors prefer the patina, and once removed it takes years to get that back!
