The set is in very good condition, bindings and pages perfectly intact with no noticeable markings, tears or indents and very little signs of aging. Each book comes with hundreds of illustrations, many of which are full-paged pictures or maps. Black Covers, 5 of which have original slipcovers and all the rest have been protected and preserved in clear slipcovers, allowing the collection to remain in near perfect condition over time. The fronts include a large imprinted seal on each cover. 18 Volumes are present, describing several different regions, civilizations and time periods. It is a large set, each book containing hundreds of pages and would fill a large stretch of shelf space. All are hardcover. All in all, a great set for any French-speaker who has an interest in history.
