General Electric GE M8440A Cassette Tape Player + Recorder. I believe manufactured in the early 1970s. Automatic stop, two way power (AC + DC jacks), ffwd, rewind, dual mic jacks (3.5 + 2.5 mm), earphone out jack (3.5 mm). Robust unit with premium durable parts. Not made of flimsy components like decks from later decades. Doesn’t include the optional AC / DC jacks, but AC jack is a standard size, and can be sourced easily.
This item has been serviced- Completely taken apart, belts checked, mechanism grease replaced, motor lubricated, tape head + rollers + tape mechanism assembly carefully and thoroughly cleaned. The chassis was cleaned inside and out, it is spotless, and no trapped dust inside. Functions all tested and confirmed as working. Tape head can be demagnitized upon request
impeccable condition. cassette compartment + chassis + controls are spotless. Only a few cosmetic scratches on the bottom. Seems to have never been taken outside. Labels amazing for age.
