Vintage Marx, The "Sea Witch" Clipper Ship Model Kit. Rare. Unassembled.

Original 1950's issue of rare, detailed and beautiful unassembled model kit. 1/96 scale. Measures 33" long. (Pictured assembled) The kit has what I believe is the majority of the over 500 parts. The model claims to be the first time anyone could build a museum-quality ship at home since the kit pre-dates the Revell 1/96 Cutty Sark. Prior to this model, only wooden kits were available for sailing ship enthusiasts.
The hull was factory assembled and painted. The plastic is black, and the under the waterline is factory painted copper. he three main decks were tin lithographed, which means the decks are completely finished with all the detail of wood. Includes the vacuformed sailsMost of the parts are still in the factory bags. Includes the booklet about the Clipper Ships, different rigging materials, thread and more. The instructions are very cool They are a very large with enlarged drawings, and detailing tips. The original box, while pretty beat up, is intact.
