A large vintage rumtopf fruit fermenting stoneware crock. Used to soak fruit and rum.

This stoneware art is in beautiful condition. no chips or crazing.
Made in Germany. Hand painted. In this region Austria, Germany and the danish would soak fruit and alcohol that makes a dessert generally eaten at Christmas. Rumtopf means "rum pot".
Colors are forest green, gray, maroon and splash of yellow. A beautiful shiny top coat glaze
In bottom of crock is a touch of yellow color paint baked into the crock. Called A mfg character. 2 handles painted in maroon on each side.
Makers mark and ID numbers on bottom underneath.
