A wonderful cameo featuring a beautifully carved image of a woman that's actually pretty. No coarse carving here...nope. The details are intricate; from the softly draped fabric at her decolletage, the fine veins in the leaves, to the gently curling tendrils of her hair. The shell is set in a plain bezel that widens and narrows, following the contours of the shell. Twisted gold wire frames the brooch, and the reverse has a locking clasp that works well. The brooch measures 1 1/4" high x 1" wide. Marked on the clasp 10K and weighs in at 4.9 grams. So pretty and in lovely vintage condition.
