For your consideration is this set of four Picnic Snack Plates produced by Lenwile Ardalt in Japan between 1945-1952. These are marked "Occupied Japan" and "Hand Painted" on the bottom of each. They are adorned with a lovely French Country Cottage floral and gold gilt filigree motif. Each has a ring for a small glass to sit. One plate has a crack that is glazed over and looks to be made during firing. There is slight gold gilt loss on the edges, but otherwise, still bright and brilliant. What perfect accoutrement to your French Country Cottage aesthetic.Condition: Did observe a seam in the beveled side of one plate and inclusions underneath the glaze produced during the manufacturing process. Pieces are free of any chips or cracks otherwise. Did observe slight gold loss on the gold bands. Items have been steam cleaned.
