Vtg Pair Of Chinese Theater String Puppets Male & Female Wooden Paddle Control Acrylic Stands Included
This pair of puppets are from our large collection of vintage dolls.
Both puppets are handmade and hand painted. Each puppet is attached to a wooden paddle by 6 thin strings tied on to the wood with tiny knots.
The female dangles 15" long. The wooden paddle controls the puppet. The stick portion is 2" long and the flat paddle is 3" x 2". The doll is 7" x 4 1/2".
Her head, hands and shoes are made of ceramic painted material. Her outfit is made of silk. "
The male dangles 10" long. His head and head dress, hands, shoes are all made of ceramic material. The back of his head dress has two red wired pieces. His beard is made of a cotton like material. His costume is abstract pattern with a wide lace collar.
The stands are 17" tall x 1" x1". The base is 5" x 4". There are some minor scratches on each base.
This pair is absolutely charming. Wonderful conversation pieces.
