High quality XL specimen. Contains botryoidal chrysocolla and translucent gem silica with dark heterogenite and small pieces of malachite. Cleaved and intact botryoids reveal deeply-colored, electric blue silica.
Gem silica and chrysocolla are typically found in copper ore deposit veins, where they can take on a massive, crusted, or botryoidal form. Gem silica (also known as chrysocolla chalcedony) is the druzy or gemmy form of chrysocolla with quartz, and it is exceptionally more rare than its constituent components.
